I am interested to know if any one has purchased medical insurance for their relatives/parents who are visiting US.
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
are you talking about travel insurance ?
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
Its MEDICAL insurance...
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
coolbreeze.. usually the rate is between $100-700 per month per person but then of course it depends on the age, what kind of coverage you want etc.
you can find more information here www.mahealthconnector.org (you can even compare and purchase the insurance online)
Click on individual and families, get started, select family size, shop for insurance now, and then enter the information for the person who needs the insurance. Hope it helps.
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
you from MA ?? and is this for Visitors??
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
answe to both your questions.. yes.
Anyone can buy this insurance, and then cancel or if you don't pay premium, the insurance is no longer active.
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
I have purchased insurance for the folks
however, since they are coming from UK for them to get travelers medical insurance is cheaper and has better coverage if they get it from there.
so depending on where they are coming from, you may want to look into getting it from home country
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
Insurance would be an expensive expense!
If the person(s) visiting are in good health then don't bother. If the person is older and may need care of "just the doctor" then it would be cheaper to pay the doctors fees.
..but if the person really needs all medical care on and off then it would be scary but you can purchase the private insurance - I think it starts at $500 per month. I would not know the details.
Re: Medical insurance for US Visitors
^^ well you never know, what kind of situation you can get into. So getting an insurance in USA is wiser than to pay hefty amounts.
