Med School in Pak for Foreign Students

Salams,

A friend’s brother just finished freshman year of college in California. He’s majoring in Bio. Their whole family resides in Cali. He wants to start doing med school in Pakistan.

Is there someone here who’s gone through a similar situation or has any info? I’ve seen some posts abt this on the forums before. Plz post here if you might have some info and I’ll ask the questions I have then

Thanks a lot,
irem

Asa irem,

there was a very detailed thread about htis topic ..last year or earlier this year i htink. u'll have to dig it up.

for US residents, SAT 1 and II are req'rd for aga khan.

btw guys, thought this info might be useful:

BAQAI

$15,300 per year tuition [for overseas pakis]

$21,900 per year for foreign students [this does not aply to pakis]

no tests etc reqd, no baqai admsn test either, just interview with candidate and parents

admission deadline for overseas: end of nov

has to get the high school equivalence certificate, baqai needs 60% and above in that

equivalence certificate from islamabad IBCC ph num [051]2853242

hi..i had a similar experience about going to med school in pak..first thing...MAKE SURE ITS A GOVT MED COLLEGE. i made the unfortunate mistake of attending a private medical college in islamabad..biggest mistake ever! Eventually I left after a year and half and it totally ruined the whole med school idea for me...after that experience i didnt want to live in pakistan for 4 more years. another thing is that make sure that when u are done ur med school in pak, that u can practice in your conntry..im from canada, and its very hard for foreign-trained med school grads (even though they are canaidan citizens) to get residencey here (there was even an article in the toronto star about this....)so check that out for sure.
well good luck to whoever is goign to med school in pak....king edward in lahore is good...so are rawalpindi med college...if u want any additional info abuot my experience u can alwasy pm me...

Why should it be a Goverment college and not some private one? Just curious :halo:

mfs555 - thanks for ur post :k:
hmm, i hope things work out for u inshallah
