meat

Come on man.
Not like that.

Some ppl told me that there is fartwa in egypt that meat prepaird by christians and jews is ok to eat?

meat

So to have a separate discussion, I post my question here.

Some one told me there is a fatwa that meat prepared by jew/chirstians is ok to eat?

Thank you.

May be that fatwa is Egypt specific. The Christians in Egypt are Coptic, very religious and traditional. You are talking about Canada, where people are ashamed to associate themselves to Christianity most of the time.

Do you really want me to answer your pointless questions?

Re: The sheesha phenomenon

can you please move your comment to the other thread I opened?

Re: meat

^Peace Monk

Please ask that someone to provide you the reference to that fatwa. Read it carefully and then go back to fatwa giver if you need further clarification, then come here after you have got all that info, so we can benefit from it.

Re: meat

yeah itz right...Muslims are allowed to eat with Ahl- e- Kitab(People of the Book ) and both Christians and Jews are People of the Book ...

Re: meat

hmmmm

yeah I should do that.

But from your response it looks like, you are not aware of it, or not convinced.

hmm

eating with them means when they cook, meat prepared in their own way?

Re: meat

what is their own way?? wo haram wala?

If such an opinion exists, then today Christians eat pork, we cannot eat that, so a context must exist. Jews can drink alcohol although this is not meat, but even so again a context must exist.

What's wrong with halal anyway?

Re: meat

how is that haram???

saids who??

psyah,

come on!!!

no can eat pork or drink alcohol.

I am interested to know about lamb/beef/chicken.

Re: meat

oh whatz the problem eating Lamb, beef, chicken cooked by them??? itz perfectly fine...

Re: meat

even if they slaughter them ?

Re: meat

^ There are two basic requirements to be halal.

a) Blessed with name of Allah (SWT) - if slaughtered without Allah's Name or any other name then it is haram

b) Slaughtering technique has to be bled - i.e. zabiha.

Some people are saying that just zabiha is halal this is not correct, it has to be both to be halal. Some people give fatawa special case for meat that is; zabiha only when no halal is available. It does not make the zabiha allowed.

The Christians used to do this properly. Jewish Kosher is better, but then you will end up with more restrictions.

Re: meat

I remember that fatwa, it came from al-azhar and it was on Islamonline, they declared the food from chain stores like Mcdonalds and KFC halal coz it's prepared by Jews and Christians and we are allowed to eat zabiha by Ahl-e-kitab.

That was a lame fatwa IMO coz we don't know if the meat is prepared by ahle kitab or athiests.

They also declared crocodile's meat halal coz it lives in the sea but they are obviously didn't do any research before giving such fatwas, most people know that crocodiles are not even sea dwellers.

So don't follow these neem mullahs blindly.

Peace @hareem01:

can you found the link for this fatwa?

so i can have a reason to eat beef/lamb,..

So there is a fatwa :hmmm:
And would you not eat at a pakistani restaurant because owner has indians working there?

As long as the meat is halal, I would.

Re: meat

To clarify, it's a Maliki fiqh view.

Scholars of the Maliki fiqh (followed in Egypt) hold that the meat of the Ahle-Kitab is permissible.

Scholars of Shafi, Hanbali, and Hanafi fiqh hold that only meat killed with Allah's name said over it, and with the neck cut to led the blood drain out, is permissible. This means that only zabihah meat is allowed, or kosher meat if the method of slaughter is the same (some liberal Jewish certification bodies label meat as kosher if a rabbi goes to the slaughterhouse at the start of each day and says a single blessing, rather than taking God's name every time an animal is killed).
