Responding to criticism from Dick Cheney - who had labelled North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-il, “one of the world’s more irresponsible leaders” - a North Korean official hit back with some bald invective, saying the row would do little to revive the six-party talks on North Korea’s nuclear weapons programmes. “Cheney is hated as the most cruel monster and bloodthirsty beast, as he has drenched various parts of the world in blood,” said the foreign ministry spokesman.
The paranoid North Koreans have to view the withdrawl of the forensic teams as an evacuation prior to a strike. And odd that the interception of nuclear materials has not caused bellicose statements form North Korea, or much coverage from the US in the news. Everyone of these things sounds like a prelude to a strike on Norht Koreas Nuclear program. The only question left is will Bush pull the trigger, and if he does, what will North Korea do?
I dont know how good the fpa.org website is but if you search for back issues and go to 2000/2001 there was an interesting article on how to negotiate with NK.They listed both rep and dem arguments. Myvoices comment on "Mr" reminded me of that and the dems actually used that trick to soften them up,while the reps dont/didnt.

Of course, if the March 2003 story of a N. Korean long range missile being found in Alaska gets recirculated in newspapers this weekend, who knows… I hear a faint drum beat. Can you hear it now?
