meaning of hand gesture

Can someone tell me what is the origin of the hand gesture in ‘adaab arz hei’.
where did it start and why its done like that.
thanks

Re: meaning of hand gesture

It started from Saudi Arab. Based on one logic.

Musafa kero, dil say keena jaata hay.

Musafa means Handshake

Did you want to say "adaaB arz hei"? It is a salute or salam. People point to their head, the most important part of body, thus saying that the person in front is respectable.

Saudi Arabia did not exist at that time. It would be more proper to say that it started from Arabia or Hejaz.
Even though I am not sure if it really is true.

Re: meaning of hand gesture

I believe its origins are not excusive to Hijaz.

I am inclined to believe it's origins actually come from ancient Persia... which were then adopted by all lesser tribes.
