Can anybody tell me what the name “Hoorani” (can be spelled various ways) means?

I was at a dawat recently and a lady there mentioned it - I think it is of Lebanese origin, but not sure.. I tried scouring the internet, could not find anything

any help ?

Hoor jaisii? if it spells in Urdu the way i think it does.

Yeah if you break it down Hoor - beautiful... Rani - queen ..

but is this technically a Muslim name? Or Pakistani name? It makes a difference ...

Hoor is an Arabic word while Raanii is a Hindi word. you decide. never heard of such a name before. it doesn't make too much sense as a Muslim name as it contains a Hindi word. it may mean something else. it would help if you write the name out in Urdu script.

Hurani is African origin, it's a male name, means one who is restless. Avoid it if you are thinking naming your family member that name

I would name my kid Hoorani if I hated her. What kind of name is that?! :)

I just have a dirty mind. I can’t help it. I don’t know how any name with “hoor” in it can be pretty. :hinna:

and btw, Hoor is in the Quran, it means beautiful and radiant

Hooriya is a pretty alternatives. It's got a beautiful meaning but unfortunately the concept of hoors has been made into a joke by the crazies.
