Southie: I dont know if there was a need for a formal apology. But the best apology would be our constructive discussions in the future. As long as we carry out our future conversations in a civil, non accusatory and accommodating manner, we will be fine (and by we I mean you and society team/management) will be fine.

My relationship with management and most team members has always been fine. Of course a few bumps but they have always been resolved.
When one is not proud of ones posts ( to put it mildly), it is best to nip things in the bud ( albeit a bit later than optimum!) At least for me, that is how things get resolved for good.
