Me as a Bride!

well, i always wonder, how would i look as a bride.
i am quite dark skinned, and you know how the concept in pakistan is that white is pretty. Just to clarify i don’t have a complex or anything, i am happy with being dark.
But most of the bridal pics that i see, all those bride are light!
What do you think?

and another thing is that that i have acne marks on my cheeks. Does the BRIDAL makeup cover all that?..
i use mac concealer and foundation, but it doesnt like hide them fully…
anyways, what do you think?

and share pics if you have any

Re: Me as a Bride!

I think you'll look beautiful...all girls seem to glow on their special day!
And yea i'm sure the makeup will cover the scars!!

well in person, they may still be alittle visible but in the pictures....you will have flawless skin :)

Re: Me as a Bride!

if you want, before the wedding like a few months before - start using obaji. it supposedly removes scaring and evens out your skin. that may facilitate to give you that perfect glow. you can also tell the make up artist that you want that wet, dewy, jlo kind of bridal look. a great makeup artist will be able to give you exactly what you want and while she's putting the make up on you, will understand what the needs of the client are.

Re: Me as a Bride!

Almost all bridal pictures are photoshoped, not to mention the fact that most brides wear heavy makeup base (even the ones with perfect skin) as it is supposed to help with the video and photos; hence lighter, clear complexions.

i don’t have perfect skin - but you cant tell in my bridal pictures.

Re: Me as a Bride!

I think the days of whiteface are slowly decreasing. If a bride looks really light, its probably because of the lighting and of course photoshop...

If you'd like to try something that's actually been proven to work, then I'd consult a cosmetic dermatologist, preferably one who specializes in ethnic skin. Monthly chemical peels, possibly combined with daily tretinoin creams will help smoothen out your skin's texture. This will be expensive, and it will take several months to take effect, and there will be many days where your skin will be dry, red, and peeling...but unlike a lot of the nonsensical things being sold at the makeup counter, it actually works.

Re: Me as a Bride!

I wouldnt stress about it too much if I were you...the only thing I would advise you to do is take good care of yourself.

Your make up doesnt matter much if you have bad skin so work on your skin and pay special attention to it.

Go for manicures and pedicures, take care of your hands and feet!

Basically, bring out the natural beauty within you...the color of your skin doesnt matter to anyone as long as you look and feel healthy.
