ha ha.. the only communal thing is jain McD, if you know their food habit then you will have mercy on them too. cant eat anything that grows underground, cant eat after sun sets, cant eat most of the good stuff. hard life they live man plus very hard to find food they can eat.
btw imagine, Mc dosa, Mc idli, Mc vindaloo sandwich, Mc chole bhature, Mc Kadhai chicken sandwitch , Mc Paratha etc etc… yummy. i should patent this idea for myself.

yeah, i know...one of my Profs was a Jain in Canada and he used to invite us to his house...they wear a mask on their mouth so they will NOT swallow a living thing ... precautionary thing you know! :)

Many Sikhs are not vegetarian but Sri Harmandir Sahib and other gurdware serve only meals without egg, fish and meat so people from all walks of life and diet choices can enjoy the meal prepared by sewadars.

India is a land of contradictions. Any Indian religion would not have meat or anything "impure" in the religious place.
But then again, the person who performs bali/sacrifice of different animals including buffalows are brahmins in temples. a temple in calcutta may sacrifice more animals in a day then half of lahore. Weird isnt it?
Though alcohol is strictly prohibited in temples etc but then it is served in many temples.
it is hard to generalize things with india. i know you guys have a perception that Indians and especially brahmins are vegetarians but in general reality is opposite.
Ah, another little known fact, in some temples including holiest of the shrines, the pundits are muslims sometimes.
Updated: at some places hindu kids also go to madarassa and there are more than normal number of muslims in BJP and Shiv Sena.
Updated again: The priest in our local temple is an atheist and he makes it known everytime.

Golden Temple and significance of vegetarianism is that the Amritdhari sikhs do not consume meat. Amritdhari is a Sikh who has taken part in the Amrit ceremonial or initiation into the Khalsa.

Seriously I find it very assuming. How does he manage... It should be just a job for him but still !!!

^^ Actually the culture is very deep rooted in him. He wants to be there as he gets to organize the functions, events, competitions and festival celebrations (holi etc).
Not that he was the first choice but they couldnt find anyone else who can take up the job. It took lot of persuasion to make him agree though.
