An alliance has been formed between the mobile applications infrastructure provider mBlox and Azzan.com, a Muslim affairs web site, that will see Muslims being alerted by SMS when it is time to pray.
The ‘Call To Prayer’ service uses mBlox’s Intellisend technology and delivers
five alerts a day to all subscribers, reminding them of both the time to pray
and the necessary prayer matter.
The service is scheduled to go live in the UK in May. European, then global,
reach is planned for later in 2001.
