Is anyone studying MBA level Marketing course at the moment, or would have studied it recently? I am looking for any tips to tackle the textbook/course and any study techniques etc.
P.S. I didn’t know where else to post this thread as there’s no forum for Education, so thought I’ll open it up in General. Thanks.
I did my MBA few years ago from Univ of Florida. My understanding is that at least in the US textbooks are really what the instructor prescribes based on his/her view point on the course and type of topics h/she wants to cover. As for study techniques, I personally believe the case method is best approach in understanding business problems and applying learning.

Anyway, to answer your question read case studies along with the topics for better understanding. What course book are you following? For self study, pick current examples and apply your theoretical knowledge on that. That helps.
Read the book and understand the material thoroughly. There usually isn't any rote memorization involved other than some headings and main points. But read the WHOLE chapter and oh be ready with examples of advertisements and other marketing examples.
This is the textbook. I’ve got a soft copy of it, hard copy wasn’t available at the Uni as stocks are low. Will get it next week from UK. Getting it couriered.
