We will be having my mayyun ceremony at home a week before the wedding. It will be an all females gathering. In my in-laws family, mayyun is a more close group gathering and much more fun so they usually expect a lot more halla gulla on it.

Anyway, since i have to plan it all, it will be at home in a big hall type room at home. I want ideas for at home decore of flowers, diyas, duppatta, chabbay, mirrors, etc. So drop me as many at home-decore ideas for a mayyun!!!

Daffy use yellow mirchi decorative lights on walls all around the room with no white lights...You will not be required to switch on any other light, since, they illuminate the whole room...It gives such a great look to mayyun/dholki function especially when it is at home.

I wish i could decorate it for you :)

I like the idea .. what are mirchi lights and where can i get them in lahore? I do have lots of christmas lights at home, that i used for my brother's dholki decorations.

These are small, Pepper like blinking lights with gaps ...not sure about the exact name...Use Chirstmas lights instead but only in yellow.

I have christmas lights in red, white, blue. But they don't really illuminate the room... they just kind of bling bling in one corner. LOL

Acha other than lights, give me traditional decore ideas .. practical easy to do sorts ...

decorate the entrance with gendey ke phool and hang a bouquet on the entrance door....keep gajraas in a chaba and keep on the entrace who ever comes can pick one for themselves, also keep some yellow and green bangles with gajras....

The table on which there will be ubtan an all keep a mirror and *light candles on it...the reflection will add a very dramatic look.....

Get them all around the room and they will work!! :p

Other than that, decorate stairs with marigolds/paper flowers along with the room you are arranging your mayyun in... Rest can only be shared in pics....

You can drape yellow/green saris/dupattas from the roof and tape them to the corner of the chair or place you will be sitting at. and maybe add lights along with the saris to kinda make a focal point of the room.

Yeh just lots of draping of fabrics around the room. You need lots of fairy lights around the room and some lamps on as well.

Mirchi lights - do you mean rope lights? You can put them around the perimeter of the room.
