hi girls ,
i am getting married in september 2012 inshallah , my question is when should i sit in mayun because my nikah is few days before my wedding ? should i sit in mayun one week before my nikah day or when should i resume my mayun .. as i will be nikahfied on 15th .. should i keep wearing mayun dress after nikah till wedding day ?
things are planned this way :
Nikaah on 15th sept ( in masjid )
mehndi on 18th sept
wedding on 21st sept
there is no such concept in Islam…u dont need to do anything or wear yellow!! and just carry on with your normal life routine… ughh stupid ridiculous culture!
mayun bethna is the stupidest thing ever. Ok no, I kind of get the reasons behind it, its’ for a bride to avoid evil nazar, spend time wiht her family instead of working etc… but if you’re the kind who hates being forced to stay home and do nothing, it’s a really really really ridiculous custom.
but i want to sit in mayun , i think i will be more relaxed this way to stay away from work and spend time with my family , my major concern here is WHEN should i sit ?
^ I believe it’s from the mayoun ceremony up til the mehndi. but in this case the nikkah? It’s a little funny, no one in your family has suggested anything?
Keep wearing Mayun dress until wedding, and yes even after nikkah switch to mayun dress pronto. While in mayun, avoid your normal hygiene routine, no na-mahrams can see you or hear your voice, that means no TV and to be honest in its more orthodox sense that means no internet either. And of course tons of ubtan should be utilized, make sure you literally roll in ubtan. I’d suggest at least two months in mayun. No chit chat with fiance either.
Why are all over lovely traditions dying a slow death?
i love our culture .. and this particular occasion comes once in a life time then why should not follow it properly… i have planned that i will sit in mayun from 10th to 21st… only one day out for my waxing etc at parlor thats it.
