so what is this whole concept about? I mean I have the general idea but why do girls go through it?
Re: Mayoon
I've only ever come across this concept on GS - I have noooooo idea what it is though. Maybe it's not a UK thing? (or maybe I'm just clueless!) Is it like a pre-mehndi ceremony of something? Do you get dressed up for it or not...do men attend or not....is it in a hall or just at home....?????
Re: Mayoon
My sister had a mayoun. Some people say it's meant to be like the period where you don't see/contact the guy at all, before all the wedding events start. we just did it as a pre-mehndi thing to be honest.
It's a rasm thing really, not everyone does it. Some people do stuff like putting haldi. For my sister it was when her friends put those flowers on her wrists and stuff
Re: Mayoon
hahah ^
ugh .. its the time when all the weird aunties in your house spread icky things like uptan and oil on you ... eeh .. also the term is mayoon bhetna .. meaning mayoon sitting lol .. meaning .. no more going outa the house .. covering up and yea no guy guy interaction .. its basically of saving urself up to ur baraat where u suddenly shine n glow and go all rainbow ... - ps. hate the concept .. lol
Re: Mayoon
it's basically a mehndi but with only the ladies? Just another day for dancing, having fun, enjoying the days up to the wedding!
