pakistan is lucky they won't have to play india and austrailia to get to semi finals. they should beat england and new zeland and might lose to south africa
Considering the bounce and pace in the Barbados wicket, I think Pakistan will likely play Asif, Aamer, and Sami along with Ajmal. That means that someone need to sit to accomodate Asif. That someone could either be Fawad or Hafeez. I have a feeling that they will probably retain Hafeez. Lets wait and see.

If Aus-Bang match is any indication, there will be something in the wicket for the spinners too. I'd rather drop Sami and keep the spinners. While Sami's pace may come in handy on this bouncy wicket, but his tendency to bowl a few rubbish balls every over will severely hurt Pakistan.

Pakistan made one change in its playing squad for the match against England in Super Eight leg of T20 World Cup tournament.Muhammad Asif will replace Muhammad Sami. Pakistan team manager Yawer Saeed told Geo News that only one change has been made in the team. Muhammad Asif will be part of playing squad instead of Muhammad Sami. He said players are determined to perform well in Super Eight stage of tournament.

Today's game, if they persist with Butt & Sami in the playing 11, what will be the result? England are hoping for Salman Butt(er) Finger and Wayward Sami to be in the 11, instead of the Accurate Asif. I dont mind if they play Sami and Asif and drop Butt for Asif. Sami might give you one decent over (take him off after that), I dont know why they dont bowl Abdur Razzaq but persist with 4 overs of Mohammad Hafeez. We thought Afridi was an aggressive captain, would try new things but I think maybe Waqar is holding him down with a scripted plan. Dont know. Team selection needs changing otherwise England will rule. I predict an England win if we play with same 11.

Eion Morgan wont be there the 2nd over of the innings when Sami would be most effective with the new ball or wayward. No, I said just one over not 4. Ideally cahnge him and Butt, however if he persists to play him then drop Butt.
ya may be ur right but Asif can be more lethal than sami from the New ball…Plus he got a great history against KP

Some important notes related to format.

- Are two victories enough to qualify for Super Eight?
Two victories are usually enough but sometimes they are not, Don't forget that South Africa could not qualify despite the fact that they won two matches in Super Eight of 2007 WC.
If the Scenario is:
i) England loses all Matches.
ii) New Zealand beats Pakistan
iii) Pakistan beats South Africa
iv) South Africa beats New Zealand
If it happens then 3 teams would be tied on 4 points each and again NRR will join the party. So Pakistan must look to win all the matches because rain can also spoil the party, Even if Pakistan is losing some match still they would have keep the NRR in mind.
Only one victory can be enough to qualify for Super Eight!
Yeah, a team can qualify by only winning one match. If the scenario is:
i) Pakistan wins all matches
ii) South Africa beats England
iii) England beats New Zealand
iv) New Zealand beats South Africa
In this case, Pakistan will qualify straight away whereas three other teams would be tied on 2 points each and a team with better NRR would progress to Semi Final.
Matches to Watch!
10th May would be most important day for this Group. Pakistan will take on SA and England will take on NZ. I have a feeling that almost 80% of the result of this group would be decided on this day. NZ and England will have advantage as they would be playing last match so if NRR comes into play, they would be knowing what to do and what not to do.
So its Final, Asif is playing and Sami is out. Great news, that but still bad news Butt remains the opener. Pakistan batting first after losing the toss, but Afridi said he would have batted anyways.
