Any one can guide how much can we extend the length of LAN (Ethernet). How many meters we can go far away from a swtich or hub.

So that signal remain strong.

it can safely work till 90 M.. and if its from a Hub,, then it can cross 130M as well ( I am talking about 3com hubs)

btw what do you do in Jeddah,,, I am from riyadh, and a frequent visitor of Jeddah.

It's all defined in the wiring regulations. Depends on cable type and data rate.

Cat5 = 100M = 300Ft (roughly, it's closer to 320-330ft actually)

for base-T and 100base-T cat 5 screened twisted-pair copper cable (half duplex) its 100m (330 feet)

EDIT:- for CAT 6 the cable length is same, only differeence is thee frequency . :chai:
