Revival of Islamic Sciences
Mawlid-un-Nabi (8-DVD set of Special lecture series by Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri)
The Western World finds itself in a dilemma with regards to conceiving the true image of Islam. Terrorism, fanaticism and extremism has not only been associated with Islam but propagated to be a major part of a faith whose only purpose of existence is to implement peace, tranquility and harmony for humanity; ensuring justice and equality to all walks of life irrespective of race, creed, color or religion. Those in the West who have however, studied Islam in detail have realized that such a presentation of Islam is contrary to reality and is a great injustice to over two billion of its followers world-wide.
In the same way within Muslims, particularly in the West, beliefs and creed are propagated which are contrary to, neglect and negate the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, Hadith and Shariah together with the practice of classical and authentic scholars and the Ummah in general over the past 1400 years.
One of the areas that has suffered a major injustice is the Islamic position on the celebration of Mawlid-un-Nabi (SAW) i.e. celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In this four part set, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has presented the reality covering every perspective on the legality of celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Each argument is presented primarily from the Holy Qur’an, backed up by numerous classical and authentic interpretations of the Holy Qur’an, supported by traditions from Sahih al-Bukhari and the ‘Sihah Sittah’ in general. The evidence on the legality of Mawlid-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations is so overwhelming, with full references from hundreds of books written by great classical Imams of Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqh being given, that the extent of the injustice being done by those who are propagating the contrary becomes apparent. For instance, details of over 50 great Imams of Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqh are given who have either wrote full fledged books determining the legality of Mawlid celebrations or have done so in general books that they have written: Imam Shafi’i, Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Imam Asqalani, Imam Jalal-ud-Din Sayuti or Imam Qustalani are but to name a few from the long list. Such information will be a revelation to many, on the subject, particularly in the West.
A detailed discussion of Biddah in relation to Mawlid-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations is also given together with the history of Mawlid celebrations in Makkah, Madinah and the whole of the Muslim World throughout the last 1400 years till the present day.
