Mela / Urs of Sufi saints in rural areas is an experience of its own kind. You can see handicrafts of the region, can enjoy traditional sweets (like khopra mithai) and experience richness of folk music.
There are, however, some activities which seems OTT, when you first come across those. One of such activity is maut ka kunwan (death well , if translated literally). Till the bike wala comes to show his kartab, khusras will entertain audience by looking at each audience and lipsing on Third-class songs like ‘tum sa koi piyara koi masoom nahin hai’. lols
Have you ever seen this ‘maut ka kuwan’ tamasha?
Is it different in different cultures / countries? BTW, where did this concept originated?
