Maulanas, Mujahideens, and contracts

I see bunch of Maulanas and their supporters on this forum froth and fume at the USA. They say USA supported Maulanas in the 80’s so why the heck they are being hounded and punished these days.

Well here is a simple example that I have used in a different thread. One day you want to remove part of wall on your property. You hire some “bearded mazdoors (laborers)” on a contract. You pay them on time and you pay them based on “agreed upon rates”. Then the job is done but the bearded mazdoors turn around and start demolishing your living room. You shout and cry that “Baba! don’t destroy my house. It was not part of the contract!”. These bearded mazdoors don’t stop and start threatening to kill your family members.

No matter how hard you try to explain that baba the “contract” is over, these bearded maulanas don’t stop. Their logic is ??? “you supported us in the 80’s so keep paying us the money even when the contract is over”. This clearly is a logic supported by Arabs in the Middle East and College-educated-Kommies in Pakistan.

Maulanas in Iran are going nutz as well. Read the thread on Iran's nukee cookbook.

Re: Maulanas, Mujahideens, and contracts

Maulana’s don’t get it. They are still living in the 80’s politics while the world has moved on. Who can blame them. They are still living in the world of 1400 ago when it comes to their religious practices. Sad indeed.

Fazl stays away from conference

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Saturday made a belated announcement of his decision to join the opposition’s boycott of the international donors’ conference here. Speaking at a hurriedly called news conference, Maulana Fazl said he had never said that he would attend the conference. But he did confirm that he had allowed NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani to attend the event.

Maulana Fazl said if the opposition’s boycott had sent a wrong message to donor countries, then it was the government’s own fault because it had failed to take the opposition parties into confidence before organising the event.

About the JUI-S chief Maulana Samiul Haq’s decision to attend the conference, he said, “His presence in the conference is not significant nor requires any action as he has crossed all limits of persuasion.”

Inside sources told Dawn that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) leader Qazi Hussain Ahmed had persuaded Maulana Fazlur Rahman to stay away from the donors’ conference.

When asked about the opposition’s position on the proposed parliamentary body to be headed by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Maulana Fazl said, “We will discuss it amongst ourselves when the government comes up with the plan”.
