I have heard a number of times ppl saying sentences like
“He/she is so immature” or “He/she is so mature”
On what basis do you class a person as being mature? What brings about this maturity in a person?

Re: mature?
You know when you are mature. If you don't know you are immature.
lol...umm... I think you should listen to him :p
I dont think its mature to go to family dawat's without telling ur fiance. he should listen to me! :P
Re: mature?
Mature just means being able to see situations in non-emotional ways and being able to act on them based on information, not (just) your emotions about the situation. It is ok to have emotions about sitautions, though, not acting angry/envious/hurt at tiny things is what makes one mature. Recognizing those emotions and talking to other people calmly about those emotions, as well as finding solutions to them, is what mature is.

Its a family dawat…why would he need permission to attend a family dawat? Its not a big deal at all…
:k:

he is still your fiance, not husband!

I don't see the issue with this? He went to a dawat without asking your 'permission' but told you about it afterwards. He might just have been too busy to let you know so he told you afterwards. It's not like he has kept a secret from you.
mature is me ![]()
Re: mature?
angelfairy is right in a way that he shld've atleast told her that hes going some place without making her all worried. She is wrong in the sense that if he didn't tell her that she should calmly ask him to inform him the next time instead of putting up an argument about the issue.
Re: mature?
I guess an immature person is someone who behaves inappropriately. For example, if there's a serious conversation, they'll laugh. And when something isn't a big deal, they'll throw a fit. If someone is an adult, they'll act like a child- perhaps throw out really juvenile insults.
A good example is when someone is having a serious medical related conversation dealing with male/female private parts, an immature person will laugh or make fun of whatever is being talked about.
Re: mature?
lol u guys r funny. ive known this guy for 7 years now mA. since grade 10 in high school and we've been together for 4 years. he is more of a friend than anything else. he knows i argue over stupid reasons and he loves it :D
Good question/topic LP! :)
You know when you are mature. If you don't know you are immature.
Yes! Good way to put it. But may need some other additional thoughts.
For example, many people are immature but, "they think that they know" that they are mature.
Hence many people have wrong knowledge of them being mature.

Very limited explanation. Specially the first sentence.
Somehow the writer is trying to weigh in emotions (negative emotions) in to definition of being mature or not.
Acting on emotions is also being mature. But why even bother to include emotionally driven acts to differentiate maturity or immaturity?
No. You’re not!
It’s me. ![]()
