Bobbi Brown is known for making some of the best matte shadows. But Inglot is another and much cheaper. They have a freestyle palette system so you can make your own matte palette, like the way you could w/ MAC etc.

Inglot isn’t everywhere but I think they may have a store in Chicago.

The palettes can be made in either 5-pan palettes, 10 or 20.

Just checked and Inglot has a counter at the Macy's Water Tower in Chicago.
