I have been thinking about this lately and I have realized that our current world is actually going through a phenomena which was popped in 1999. The Matrix.
We are living in a virtual world and we feel more comfortable here. Day by day, we are getting involved in it so badly that when it comes to reality, we feel it weird. I have seen lots people who prefer to have friends online rather in real life (they have their excuses, ain’t discussing that). Half of our day spend on facebook or some social site. We feel incomplete if we don’t check our emails 10 times a day. I mean, count your daily real life activities and compare it with your daily virtual activities. you will realize the fact.
The other day, I was reading an article about some adults psychology thing, not sure what is it exactly and it was written their that study shows, today’s youth is more comfortable in spending time online rather hanging out with friends.
Ain’t this thing disturbing you out? I am one of the geek when it comes to technology and day by day, it is freaking me out. I feel really bored if nothing new comes out in the market.
Well I am not one of those thank Allah. My close friends are still the ones I made in college. I still spend 90% of my time off the computer. I spend more time in real life meeting people or hanging with the family than on the internet.
To be honest I use the internet for the following things:
News - Dawn and BBC as I don't get them here.
World of Warcraft - To get my game on and destress
Gupshup - To mess with people because I can.
I don't do anything else with the internet that is recreation related. I don't do facebook or spend hours on Youtube or digg.com etc.
When it comes to me, I ahve to be online for 'caz my field asks me to know every single tech stuff. Whats going on and whats not. I have sophisticatedly configured everything in my Google Reader any my day activity is limited to Gmail, Facebook, Google Reader and Gupshup sometimes but even then .. our virtual world is becoming an integral part of our life rather than real world.
Hats off to all those who still have their real life upto 90 % .. .. I really wish i could kill all this technological advancement and get back to middle ages

I am not depressed at all with the fact that Google Wave is gona die in a year :|

thats the point i am talking about .. .. we are spending or willing to spend so much time in this virutal world. Let me put an architecture view of future of social media with today's searches and some concepts taken from movies.
okay, since I have been talking about matrix and virtual world, let me point out the reality of this concept .. if it could be true or not.
The very first thing would be our involvement based on our electro-magnetic waves wihch are generated in our brain. We already have the social media, we already have a place where we can bring our doomed inner side infront of people. we can share different videos, we can wish for differrent things, we can “argue” which we might not argue if in real.
combining the headset and this social media, imagine a virtual world where you can feel your physical presence. the headset could be extended into full body device, with different wires atached to different body points. and your full body would be virtually there in the social media. where you will act as a host for your own PAGE/Place/Home site. you can share, discuss and do things. virtually ..
