Hello all
I have narrow down 4 cars, multi-purpose one’s. Couple of times in a month I go to Ssauga from Toronto Downtown. apart from that I want a car that is durable I know about Matrx and Fit since they come from Toyota and Honda, as for Subaru / Nissan well I have mix reviews.
During summer we go for camping/cottage for picnic as well.
P.s: I am not buying the latest version in the auto mall, but something 2000-2003 exception; versa and fit
Any suggestions, which one would be the right choice?
Is it worth buying from a private sale or private auto showroom and how about dealers?
^^ yes Fit and versa are I think 2006, corrected that, as for spending I'd say 15-17 for a very clean and nice car, I wont mind a good bargain for 11-12. I know with the price range options can be limited. Well I am not into outdoorsy but its like a once a month activity thing.
my buddy has a baja but he is into jet skiing, snow mobiling and what nots so its easy fr him to load that stuff in tha baja, even mountain bikes and all, if i was as outdoorsy thats probaby what I would get.
i would say go test drive them because in the end, it anot just whats on the paper that matters but also how u feel in the car, comfort, ergonomics and in teh end, you would know.
I am getting the tes drive of Matrix and Versa sometimes next week, one of my friend said go with forester even if it cost couple of thousand loonies more.
Go for either Forester or Honda Element. You can get a good deal on 3 year old model. Its lots of fun. I drove Matrix once from sauga to Chicago and was barely able to walk after that. Its a curse to be in Matrix or PT Cruiser. Your whole body is leaned towards steering.
Yes if I was driving in city and on/off trip to SSauga I would say civic or corolla is good, Fit is my last option just coz it looks to me a tiny doll car/ city driving.
I dont mean to barge in, but have you given VWs a look? Amazing build quality. German engineering. Nafta collaboration. Urban chic.
You can get a **City Golf **for 15,000. They added the City name to last years model and sell it cheaper. It retailed for 23,000 last year.
Same price as the fit and versa but bigger. Cheaper than the matrix and forester but still rock solid quality. A better warranty than Toyota, Nissan or Honda by a year and 20,000km. They offer 3Year/60,000. VW offers 4Year/80,000.
Yeah, I know its last years model, but still an excellent new car. They’re actually on back order. Its done even better than the new golf in ratings.
If I was in the market for an extremely affordable car, this would be it. It’s even got the roominess you want. Only minus, is that it’s 50mm less head room than all the other cars. On the plus, it’s got the widest seats from the bunch :-).
thanks for the info hskhan, believe it or not, since my grand-dads first car we are toyota family and only one rare occassion we had bought Suzuki Alto for obvious reasons (small compact pocket size car in Karachi). Well I have narrow it down to Forester and Matrix, but will get all the test drive and I wil add city golf to that test drive list.
