After seeing some google adverts popping up every now and then, I have started to believe that there is a good business there.
So guys, what you look for in a good matrimonial site? and what wins your confidence when it comes to giving away your very personal information to a complete stranger for equally stranger YET “potential” life partner.
WHich also raises another question, if in real life some1 approaches you (talking about girls here) and shows interest in your “availability”, you take offense of it and regard that person as rude. Then what makes it perfectly normal when it comes to these sort of sites.
i think the online shaadi market is saturated nowadays. unless you have something superdifferent to offer, i don't think it would be a big success. as for your q about why girls get offended, i think some of them come here only to talk and so it's irritating if some guy wants to get married. but on a shaadi site, the purpose of communication is obvious so it's not annoying.
I'm sure the shadii's online work ... because people are finding their partners and are maintaining their married status...
It's becoming the "norm" now.
However, I am old fashioned. I like to know the person not just by myself - but like in traditional ways - aunties knowing the families for ages... it just makes me comfortable knowing the guys background through people I know and trust.
There are loads of gorgeous girls on Shaadi.com, my brother once registered on there when he was getting fed up with the girls my parents were putting forward. The girl he is actually marrying didn't end up coming from a matrimonial site tho. Also, weirdly, he got a lot of emails from fathers of girls. If my Dad was seeking out a husband online without asking me first I would go mad..

I know alot of people that have gotten married off of Matrimonial sites.. mostly thru Shaadi.com!
Like njgal said its becoming the norm these days.. but certainly theres still that whole concept of actually knowing the family before marrying into it..
