i love mathematics whether it's pure/applied or whatever. one of my a levels is further mathematics. i like all those topics u mentioned ,my favorite being calculus and algebra(bcz it's easy) but i dnt like statistics much. no i just dont like it at all.
i like working with numbers, it's better than reading and going through all those notes as in biology:S

haven't really touched Mathematics in a while, but used to absolutely love it. Did pretty well in University... fav courses being Abstract Math, Linear Algebra, and Chaos & Dynamics. I wanted to do more Number Theory as it fascinated me, but didn't get the chance to take it as a special course.

In A-Levels, I took four modules of Pure Mathematics, and two modules of Mechanics... did well in the former (A), and reasonably well in the latter (B).

The funny thing is that I used to suck at Math until about grade 9 or so... and then I got this awesome teacher who turned it around for me. I still remember the first time I brought home a 100% grade in Maths and my parents couldn't believe it :) - never looked back since then Alhamdullilah.

A rectangular piece of paper is folded such that the two opposite corners touch, the crease formed is the same length as the longer side of the paper. What is the ratio of the long side and short side of the rectanglular paper? Show your working out.
