Matchy Matchy

Apparently, according to Sweets.if.only.I.was.gay, wearing the same outfit, or having the same outfit/shoes with family and friends is gay.

:frowning:

I make my chachi buy the same clothes as me, two fold, 1) she sometimes wear aunty clothes, 2) I like it when we are matchy matchy.

My sisters and I all have at least 2 outfits the same and I buy us the same shoes sometimes.

I make my cousin buy his wife the same shoes as me cos she’s so cute and she loves my shoes and I want her to have them too. My cousin, the boy, loves shoes too so it’s all good.

Do youse think it’s gay?

Would you be annoyed if someone had the same same stuff as you?

It really doesnt bother me. I encourage it.

When I was living out at uni, my cousin would buy the same thing as me without knowing I had it. She would get annoyed, and I never understood why, im wearing it in my city and you are wearing it it yours and I didnt know you had it and STFU.

Re: Matchy Matchy

I buy my sister the stuff I buy for myself ALL the time. Since we don't look alike at all, I don't think anyone notices and even if they did, I don't care. If it looks good, it looks good.

My other best frand and I would find we had completely independently bought the same thing. After undergrad, we stopped seeing each other so often (so never any shopping together) and our styles are completely different, yet we'd still find we'd have clothing items in common.

The only thing that pisses me off is when someone says they don't like XYZ and then they go and get the same thing.

Re: Matchy Matchy

Chup

I dont like it wheb twins wear same thing either. I know these twins who have everrrrrything matching. ITS GHEY.

im not petty and get annoyed at someone with same clothes as me.. i just wouldnt plan to have same same with someone else.

Re: Matchy Matchy

YES! Most of my friends and cousins HATE my bubblegum smelling shoes cos they think they are 'Barbie' shoes (which by the way is awesome cos Barbie is a ledge!) but they all love wanting to try them on and ask me where to get them from and how much they are, blah blah blah. I only told my cousin, the boy, cos only his wife deserves them cos she appreciates that they are made from recyclable material.

Re: Matchy Matchy

My twin nephews dont wear the same thing anymore as they are ‘big boys’ now and I miss it. I loved that I couldnt tell the difference between them. We used to play guessing games and they would trickies us. FUN.

Re: Matchy Matchy

Also im talking about 21 yo twins. not little girls who are going througj a phase of everything two
at 21 u would expect to have diff tastes or want to look a little diff.

Re: Matchy Matchy

You no understand the twin bond!

I wish my twin brother and sister dressed the same. That would be so much fun!

Re: Matchy Matchy

No. ur brother and sister are cool thatswhy.

I hate derma lectures sooo much. so.boring.omg

Re: Matchy Matchy

so u're saying i can't buy the same bag as milly even though i suggested it to her coz I really liked it and would have bought it for myself? HMMM?

Re: Matchy Matchy

YOU CAN BUY IT AND YOU WILL BUY IT!

Just ignore Sweetface, she's boring when she's at uni being all clever and studying.

Re: Matchy Matchy

I have a matchy-matchy story! Except it's not about clothes, it's about a car.

So Friend A had to buy a new car and Friend B knew Friend A needed to buy a new car and that she wanted to buy Car X. Friend B goes out and buys Car X first, calls up Friend A and says, "OMG, I got a great deal on Car X, you should buy it too, but they only have it in colour C at the dealer" (Friend B bought it in colour D, which Friend A also wanted).

Friend A is annoyed, but eventually says, to heck with it, I'm going to buy Car X and get it in Colour D. So what if we have the exact same car (they socialize a lot together).

Funny enough, it turns out that 4 other moms with kids going to the same school who obviously live in the same neighbourhood bought Car X in Colour D - now all the moms are matchy-matchy :D

Re: Matchy Matchy

Sehrysh! Cars are for boys! We women should only the colours of cars. Mine is silver.

Re: Matchy Matchy

^ Eeek, my new car is silver too! Now we're matchy-matchy!

Re: Matchy Matchy

That’s better!

Re: Matchy Matchy

I think it's cute when sisters of the bride or groom wear matching outfits at the mehndi or wedding. It shows unity!!

Re: Matchy Matchy

i want to buy same stuff for my sister but she doesn;t like matchy matchy :( too bad i have to leave all the good things for her and always have to settle down for other colors/designs that i less like :(

Re: Matchy Matchy

i hate it when i have the same clothes as my sister or bhabhis and they wear theirs first or often to a family dawats. By the time I wear mine for the first time (since I hardly do wear desi clothes) it looks old.

Grrr.

Other than that, I dont mind if we have the same Western clothes.

Re: Matchy Matchy

my sis and I just bought the same jacket but in diff colors

it's ok cuz we live in diff cities

otherwise i don't like it if other people have the same clothes as me

Re: Matchy Matchy

My sisters and i have completely different tastes. If we get the same thing it looks different on all of us, but we never really get the same thing. I dont care if someone has the same outfit as me, but I don't like it when someone copycats you on purpose.

Re: Matchy Matchy

I think it looks really nice when people wear matching clothes at weddings or functions. Shows the closeness of the family. My SIL and I grew up doing it.

Nowadays when I get wedding clothes made from Pakistan, my Phopho will automatically make something in the same colours for my younger cousins and little sister to wear so we are coordinated but not exactly the same.
