I’m wedding planning for my sister whose getting married mid-2012 iA. For the mehndi I’ve always wanted to have a matching theme for all the girls and guys that are from our family and friends. We’re going to be going to pak this winter for shopping however the way things are currently in pakistan it looks like we’ll have to start tyaari NOW in order to actually have stuff to bring back.
My question to you experienced ones is whats the most efficient way to do this? Should we be looking for ready-made outfits, or buy unstitched outfits, OR hire someone (a boutique perhaps) to make the outfits. Names and Locations would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help. OH and i apologize if a similar thread has already been created.
i remember for my sister´s wedding i buyed the same clothes for my all brother n cousins for mehndi --> white shalwar kameez with yellow dupatter... they looked awesome mashallah xD
and we girls decided NOT to wear same clothes because we wanted to look diff. but still the same --> hum sabne paranda pehna tha xD many colours with diff. paranda ;D
for the boys - go for the ready made (^^)
and for the girls i think to order it will be the best :)
agreed, for the boys, definately go ready made, it’s easy to find large quantities of the same dupatta/shawl for guys, same with shalwar kameezs
for the girls, i kind of like the idea of the same clothes, if done right, it looks really cute! here’s a youtube video of a dance sequence from some mehndi where the girls were in the same outfit
Hey! Good luck, IA it’ll work out, but definitely start NOW. For my brothers wedding this past summer, we had identical white shalwar kameez for all the boys/men (some uncles wore white dress shirts and slacks) and hot pink dupattas. Us girls wanted to go with hot pink & orange. We didn’t do matching outfits, but all the same color scheme, and asked all of our baraati ladys to do the same. we also wore tikkas, hair braid to same side, so we would stand out as grooms sisters. it looks beautiful, especially in the pictures (mA) Even alot of the aunties worse either pink/orange.
Our dad we had creme/ivory shalwar kameez with a hot pink and orange dupatta to stand out. My brothers outfit was a mint green, his duppatta had green (to match him and bhabhi) and pink to match us. our mom wore magenta to stand out
It was alot of fun to coordinate The girls side guys wore black and yellow duppattas and the ladies stuck with yellow.
that was such a fun video to watch, wow congrats the couple
now back to the topic I saw an HSY wedding some time back where the girl and all of her side had a bandhani thing to tie in all the outfits… i know it was posted on here in this topic:
I](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/wedding/382320-bandhani.html) thought it was nice to have a similar color scheme and the print is fun and festive. maybe if you ask girls to wear an outfit with that bandhani material they could have more freedom to wear what they want bc it’s really hard to get some women and girls to actually listen to the request to wear a certain color and what not to the mehndi
So We're deff going to do ready-made for the guys. as for the girls....well lets just say we're getting there.
Gigabyte! MASHALLAH such a beautiful wedding! from a-z, u guys did an awesome job!! Were your outfits by rani emaan as well or just the brides were? ALSO can u pm me a whole shot of your bhabi if you dont mind?....just to see the amazing style of the dress.
Hunnie! i like the bhandani idea as well, very mehndi-ish for sure!
Allhamdulillah, everything was perfection Such beautiful moments, seems planning for one year, but over in a blink of an eye! Thank you ladies. i wish I had told him to include the mayoon function we threw.. oh man, it was insane! (if you click thru the fb album that comes up with the links below you can see a few of the decor shots for that as well)
Bhabhi/mom/sis - Rani Emaan – all bhabhi main 4 outfits from there, mA…
Majority from Mirage in LA (they were AWESOME with us. spent months going over every detail. even an outfit came back and the owner of the boutique just didnt like the color combo and, so she redid the entire outfit)
one of ours for valima - asifa & nabeel (thru mirage again, they carry designers - Sana Safinaz, Nomi to name a few) and we also bought couple Sana Safinaz
we had so many outfits to figure out because of the amount of functions.. Mashallah, turned out really well. at times it was soo over whelming…
