Few years back it was very common for ex-cricketer to comment on each day play of every test matches. They used to write for prominant newspaper and it used to be fun to read those. Now a days I dont see any articles by ex-cricketer.
May be I am missing some thing here.
Can you guys point to any sites where some famous ex-crciketers are commenting on Ind-Pak series.

i was always skeptical of the authenticity when players who i remember having worse english skills than my goldfish were producing immaculate literary works with perfect english and rich vocabulary.

They all have ghost writers. But they usually tell writers what to write and then review it.

I think video media has a lot to do with that. now ex-players give their analysis/view on 2-3 channels i dont think they get enough time after that to write a review!

Last year when I was in India…I was surprised by how many ex-cricketers (regardless of their stature as a player) had turned into analysts.
Even Azahruddin , who is barely articulate, wrote(or ghost-wrote) a column for Indian Express.
And of course you have people like Jadeja, Maninder Singh, Saba Karim, Vengsarkar, Srinath, Atul Wassan, Robin Singh, Sivaramakrishnan …you name it…if they were not on TV…they were delivering their “profound” quotes for the newspapers.

I think Srinath writes for Rediff, WV Raman for The hindu **and Moin Khan for **New Indian express.
