Match-fixing 'under control'

I don’t think so :nono3:

chief executive Malcolm Speed has said match-fixing is under control.
The ICC formed an anti-corruption unit in 2000 - headed by former Scotland Yard chief Lord Condon.

The unit was set up after Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin and Pakistan skipper Salim Malik were banned for fixing international games.

“Lord Condon believes that the problem is under control, but it’s not gone forever,” warned Speed.

South African captain Hansie Cronje, who later died in a plane crash, admitted taking money from an Indian bookmaker and was also given a life ban from international cricket.

Speed said the ICC spends more than £1m a year on anti-corruption and a security unit.

“And we will continue to do that because we believe that it is one of the most serious problems we have confronted - but we must remain vigilant and fight against it,” he added.

In March this year, former Test wicket-keeper Rashid Latif threw suspicions on the results of one-day matches between Pakistan and India,
“If a player has the evidence he must come forward and provide full details, but what we don’t wish to see is people making allegations when there is no support to their allegations.”

Why do you think it is not under control?

Well, to tell you the truth, I believe that the whole “Jeet Lo Dil” series  (whatever that was) was fixed. I mean look at the way the Pakistani team played. In the Peshawer/pindi ODI they gave an excellent performance and look at the last two ODI’s in Lahore. so disappointing… I didn’t even bother watching the test series.

ullu dai … :mad2:

herr It could just be me

believe me, it is just you. Don't be a sore loser. Why is it so hard for you and a few others to accept that the Pakistani team lost the games fair and square? :-p

why is it so hard for you to accept that we all have a piece of mind and we all think differently
you can stick to your thoughts :) but don't try changing mine

was I attempting to change your views? haha! you presented your views and I did the same. But really, just because the team lost doesn;t mean they have sold themselves out. Give them a break! Most of em are new and inexperienced. The captain as everyone knows was anything but competent. Let them settle in. And please, don't discredit the Indian team by saying the series was fixed.

:) :) :)

your signature reminds me of a song I heard a while back
go shorty, Its your birthday we gonna party like its your birthday don't remember the rapper/singer but do you know what song it is

when will ehsan mani take the hot seat so we can get rid of this biased icc chief executive speedo. i personally do think that the match fixing isn’t under control @ all, the recent pakistan v india series had so many factor’s which only brought suspicions into certain ppl’s minds.

ofcourse some or may be all of the indian contingent of supporters on this site r bound to say that it’s sour grapes for the pakiz’ and so forth but when one studies the odi + test series closely u’ll c cracks appearing.

the odi series was going along f9 b4 we let india beat us badly in the 4th and 5th odi to cruise home the advantage. in the 4th and 5th odi our batsmen fell so cheaply, we bowled pathetically wat our bowlers’ form dipped in a matter of 2 games when the bowling was f9 for the 1st 3 odi’s :konfused: ]

the test series was the most one sided test series i have personally watched in a long long time. 1st test wat happened to pak @ multan why didn’t we turn up!!! sehwag creamed our bowlers like we were bowling off spinners to him. in reply why couldn’t our batsmen make a decent total when we were playing on a batsmen friendly wicket. i didn’t c indian bowling attack succumb to any pressure in multan if their bowlers could take wickets on a batsmen’s pitch y couldn’t our’s…

2nd test we won to even the score i think if we had lost maybe ppl would’ve really doubted this series, so this win for us was more of a tonic for the media+ icc corruption panel + supporters @ home n’ abroad.

3rd test wat happened again!!! dravid was given the opportunity t score his runs he got far more than luck in that innings of his, it’s true dat batsmen need a lot of luck to build a huge innings but dravid was given more of a helping hand than the traditional batsmen’s luck in that career best innings of 270… again when it was our turn 2 bat, our batsmen couldn’t decide on the shot selection, they were in 2 minds whether to defend or attack. wat was even more pathetic in this test @ pindi was shoaibi’s behaviour here is a man leading the attack and the prick throws in the towel when the chips r down. wat did inzi’ say to dean jones i believe b4 our team went out to bat for the follow on, somik’ like " we’ll look to either bat out the test {highly unlikely} or atleast put a decent total on the board to make the score respectible", now u guys tell me apart from asim kamal’s brave knock which other khilari in our tram batted as if he was looking to occupy the crease for as long as possible :smack2: ]

… the whole jeet lo dil {or more like don’t bother playin’ we’ll give u the series as a goodwill gift  ] }series was a success more on the political front then the sporting. india took the inititive bothways wat did we get, a big fat zilch!!!

Gosh it is the same old story, Pakistan can never lose a match unless it is fixed. Come on guys wake up. The better team won. The one which played like morons lost. Simple.

indians came , they played well(or rather Pakistan played badly) - won the series and went back home...people are still stuck on the same record of matches being fixed...

ehsan, How many times do you see me running around trying to say "Every game pakistan loses, match was fixed"
No one really knows wether it was or not but we do have the right to express our thoughts and opinions wether it is true or not
just as you are

Express your views by all means, itna naraaz honay kee kiya baat hai? :)

I just want us to accept that we lost and get on with it. If anyone has proof than it is a different matter.
