Firstly, masturbation is forbidden (haraam) for both either male or female.
Secondly, If reached at climax reached as result then full ghusal is mandatory.
Last but not least, better to do ghusul in both cases and ask forgiveness from Almighty Allah and make intention to never do such thing again.
