Please recommend universities that have a MBA program specializing in Information Security. I am specifically looking for Universities that offer the program online.

info security is a pretty narrow field, I dont think that an MBA in information security would really even do anything. I wouls think that IT security may be as a concentration area inan MS in IS or comp sci field.
I have looked at the links provided by Tommy and in that list the only uni I really think is worthwhile is Boston Uni.

Peer Ji, I was thinking along the same line. I did not make it clear in my post..I am looking for an MBA program with concentration in IT Assurance or IT Security.
I have seen all of these Universities links and programs before. One thing that concerns me is their accredition (sp?). That is why I put the post out there so "Zaheen" people like you can help me out in selecting a reputable university for an online MBA program.
I have heard a lot about UOP University of Phoenix online, I have even talked to those guys.....they want too much damn money (its a secondary issue at this point). After spending 10 years in the corporate life and reaching the pinnacle in the technical area, its time to move up on the corporate ladder. It was hard enough to go up a few rungs on the ladder, and it got even steeper and slippery after 9/11. I am just trying to remove one more obstacle ....and hopefully crack into (Management--Business side) with an MBA.

well kaleem, boston uni os on the list in that link, and they have a pretty good MBA program. Other good unis with online MBA progarms are penn state uni, george washington uni, uni of Tulsa, I believe uni of maryland, University of Texas. Worcester Polytechnic Institute has an online MBA with a focus in technology. I would advise you to stay away from unis like uni of phoenix, and those other ones whose ads u see in airline magazines :)
I wouldalso not worry about such a focus, you can get an MBA and then get technical courses or certificatesd anywhere, but get in the best MBA program that you can.
My question would be why an online MBA, why not an executive program, or if not that a part time program?
part time program would be mostly in evenings, may have some distance education options, and may have some weekend options.
Executive MBA is almost always on weekends, with some residency requirements i.e. each year you have to be in residency i.e. 1-2 weeks staying on campus, and in classes and projects 9-5 and working in teams in the evenings. The issue with executive MBA is that in almost all cases your employer has to nominate you for it, and pay for it, in some cases the employer will nominate you for it even if they dont pay or pay part of it.
Please investigate the part time or executive programs before going for an online one, the diploma plus the networking opportunities and in person contact will be more beneficial to you than just a diploma.
You are in Houston so look at UH, they have a part time MBA program with a concentration in MIS. I am not sure of Rice has a part time program

I forgot to add, right now u are thinking that an MBA will be of help, later on you will feel that an MBA from a good university would be of help. I am not suggesting that u necessarily go to wharton, HBS or Kellogg but to avoid the following
1) non accredited universities
2) MBA programs not accredited by AACSB
3) programs by small universities with no names
look into progs from Uni of Texas, Boston Uni, Penn State etc..the universities are known and known to be good institutions

Just to add to what Fraudia and Umar have already said.. I'm also in the Houston area and have been looking at a graduate Program for a while now.
University of Houston
Part time as well as online and executive MBA programs.
There is also a program offered by the technology dept. MSc in Technology Project Managment and Information Security.
Offcourse UH has four different campuses - Main, Downtown, Clearlake and Victoria. I believe you can also take classes at the Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch Campuses.
Rice doesn't have an on-line MBA or part-time MBA program but has an excellent (and expensive) executive MBA program.
I believe all of the above are AACSB certified.
You can also look at University of Saint Thomas, HBU, TSU etc etc in the Houston area.
