Masters in Engineering by Course work or Thesis ?

I have started my Masters in Engineering studies, though it is my first semester and I have to decide about the subject matter in later times which option should I go for course work or thesis option.

But I want to make my mind in advance about my study plan, I am in confusion which option would best reflect on my future resume.

Masters in Engineering by course work or Master of Engineering by Thesis/research work In case I resume back to works right after my studies?

Re: Masters in Engineering by Course work or Thesis ?

I would go with course work.

If you already have enough experience in your field and you think you can study on your own then go for research . But if you feel like that you gona be better off if someone will guide you and you need more knowledge before you can work on your own , then go for course work .

I would say thesis is the way to go. Otherwise masters and undergrad are fairly similar if you don't do your own research and do thesis. Also, when you are applying for PhD alot of universities at least here in Canada look for the kind of research you have done in the past and what sort of research experiences you have had. That is another thing you have to keep in mind

If you want to go for PhD later on, I'd go for the thesis option...

go for thesis option.

I did thesis work on the privatisation of one the most well knows banks here. It almost landed me with a job. I didn't get the job it the end because they didn't want to employ a girl.

thesis will help u in making contacts and if you're thesis is good it will very much help you in applying for jobs almost everywhere.
