Master Chef contest

Its a reality show on star plus.

When i first saw it, i thought i could be a good competition. Boi was i wrong.

There are 11 contestants, and they are given such interesting tasks. One was that, they were given two minutes in which they would take a sample out of a qourma, smell and taste it, and list down 20 ingredients of it. In the other one, they were shown how to make a traditional ‘baldaar’ paratha, and then they were asked to make it. Some of them cheated. In another round, they were grouped into two teams, given certain amount of money with which they set menu, shopped and cooked in given time. In yet another one, they were asked to go innovative with cottage cheese.

Akshay kumar is the judge along with two other chefs.

I so like it guys, did anyone watch any episode?

Re: Master Chef contest

i havnt seen the complete show but stil i love to watch the cooking part .

Re: Master Chef contest

Oh i love this show. Seen all the episode. Its very interesting. I love cooking myself. My fav. contestant is Zebi Zubair. I hope she wins.

Re: Master Chef contest

I havent seen this but ive seen the British Masterchef, the contestants on it are always so amazing, even if some of their dishes flop, the standard is always pretty high.

Re: Master Chef contest

oh yes i m watching it n i like smita :)

Re: Master Chef contest

I like the British one. Didn't know of an Indian one, will check it out - thanks for the heads up.

Re: Master Chef contest

i relaly like the austrailian one.. the british one they are only showing celebrity masterchef and that isnt all that... i didnt even know there was an indian one...

Re: Master Chef contest

The celebrity one is pointless, because, well, they're celebrities and so the food and passion/drive is nowhere near that of the wannabe chefs.

Re: Master Chef contest

Zebi zubair is the only one whose name i have been able to remember. She is a smartie.

Dont you feel like being a part girls??

My mom tried the cheese cutlets that one of the participants demonstrated. Cutlets didnt tasate anything different from the usual cheese cutlets we make, but the presentation he taught was like..WOW. Deep fried paapris, topped with yogurt sauce and kebabs looked so pretty.

Re: Master Chef contest

So I'm finally caught up.

It's too difficult to pick out a winner at this point, none of them are completely rounded out, which makes it interesting.
I would have killed Akshay Kumar in that Dhaba task.

Re: Master Chef contest

which channel does it come on. i love australian masterchef. and they recently had a junior masterchef (kids under 13) and i was amazed to see how talented they were.

Re: Master Chef contest

Re: Master Chef contest

I love this show. i tried veggie kofta biryani by Smita that she made in 1st episode and i loved it. i never used mint in biryani , in her recipe mint was used and it was so amazing.

Re: Master Chef contest

Re: Master Chef contest

That was topi drama, he is easily recognizable in his sikh getup and the contestants acted as if they didn't know.

Veggie kofta biryani sounds really interesting. I might try.
