T.Shetty Says: 30 December 2007 at 2:13 am Good points from Pulikeshi and Chetan. Get over with this Modi. He won.
As to US visa, if past is any indication, USA is very loyal to money. They know how to conviniently ’spin’ and issue him visa if needed.
dharma Says: 30 December 2007 at 7:14 am To hell wih USA. Modi will now look into the socalled underdeveloped 25% of Gujarat the media and the congress were bloating about. He will make it 99% developed area in Gujarat before the next elections and leave 1% for the media and the congress to talk about! Good luck Gujarat, and well done.
M. Usman Baki Says: 30 December 2007 at 4:34 am “Modi’s US B1/B2 (tourist/visitor) visa was revoked in 2005 “for alleged violation of religious freedom”. ”
Getting elected does not wipe clean his record of Human/Minority Right violations. Thousands of cases against him and his supporters are still pending in the court of laws. Was Tehelka expose not enough to prove his complicity in killing of thousands of innocent Gujarati Muslims enough?
I believe in India’s judiciary; although delayed eventually justice will be served.
There is no reason to restore his visa at this time.
He WAS found guilty and nothing he has done to change his image..]
Which court has found him guilty??? If the US administration is the solo authority to make declarations....why people like you oppose US when it is very often against the Islamic tactics?
So why should he be granted the visa this time..is the question
[And BTW its nothing to do with islamic media................people like you choose words carefully according to the bandwagon and/or stereotyped mentality..and it shows in your first sentence.]
Who are you to judge on behalf of US administration?
You have brought up a news item of your beloved Benerji commision reports.....My question is very relevant...What the Muslim mob was doing there nearby the burning boggy at Godhra?
deedawar will find all reasons to escape this question.
Not opening the new trial here so the question is irrelevant.
Modi is condemned and rightly so.
From 2005 great decision by US;
“We can confirm that Chief Minister of Gujarat state Narendra Modi applied for, but was denied, the diplomatic visa under Section 214 (b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act because he was not coming for the purpose that qualified for a diplomatic visa,” the spokesman said.
“His tourist/business visa was revoked under Section 212 (a) (2) (g) of the Act, which makes any government official who was responsible for, or directly carried out, at any time, particularly severe violations of religious freedom, ineligible for visa,” he added.
My question is why Indians think US being bad for its decision against Modi?
Re: Mass murderer from India Planning visit to U.S.?
A friend of mine who happened to be from Surat, Gujarat told me horrible stories. What surprised me most was the thing that majority of Hindus are very happy with the murderer.

A friend of mine from Vadodara says most muslims in gujarat are also happy with Modi because he has made Gujarath the leader in economic development
Re: Mass murderer from India Planning visit to U.S.?
Back to the topic..... modi is also hated by the christian organistaions in US as he was instrumental in bringing an anti conversation law back in 02...
i belive they played a bigger role in this episode..
if Ariel sharon can be invited to whitehouse then why cant modi???
Re: Mass murderer from India Planning visit to U.S.?
^ true, they are of the same ilk.
however it is unlikely that many here would be supportive of Ariel Sharon visiting the white house either. you pick battles you can win, nothing wrong with that.
