Has anyone got a nice pakistani recipe for masoor daal please., using tarka of garlic and zeera seeds. Thanks
Re: masoor daal
well i usually mix it with moong n make it...
just take equal quantities of both n make it just like ud make any other daal..
a lil variation u cud do, wud be to make it chatpata..
just put it on low heat with water n salt/ lal mirch/ garlic/ ginger...
n when u do the bhagaar bit (tarka stuff) just put chopped tomatoes, black cumin, n a pinch of mustard seeds..
(tomatoes take a while to get cooked)
once the daal's cooked add loadsa fresh lime juice.. n then add the bhagar!!
hopefully this helps :)
Re: masoor daal
Well soak the daal in cold water for about an hour! 250 Grams of it! Take 4 whole red chillies. Crush them a little bit! Put one teaspoon salt! Drain out the saoked water! Put water three times of the daal (3 glasses). Cook the mix on medium flames. When water dries up, crush the daal, put a little water again and let the daal cook on low flames again meanwhile prepare tarka of white zeera, curry leaves, red whole chillies (4 more) in oil and drop it on daal! Daal is ready!
