Its tricky !

Can be done in so many different manners … but what i wanna ask is , how many of you apply it on the lower lashes as well ? what kind of effect does it give to your eyes ?

I feel , mascara on the upper lash , gives me a smooth, classy look .. but on the lower lash makes me look aritificial :no:

I have never applied mascara on the lower lashes. I prefer it on my upper lashes :)

what effect does it have on your eyes MKD?

I have noticed if I put mascara just on the ending tips of my lashes , it gives a unique depth to my eyes and lashes start looking heavy and full :@:

I don't apply it to the bottom lashes because it doesn't really make the makeup look natural in my opinions..Your right chicken, they do look artificial!

I dont use it much..because its a hassle to remove it but when I do I only use it on the upper lash and yes it does give a fuller look to the lashes

I don't use Mascara much, only when I have medium to heavy eye makeup on (for parties and formals).... and even then not on the lower lashes.

hmmm i always do it on upper as well as lower lashes... just makes them prominent really... have to be careful not to smudge the lower ones though

i do it sometimes on lower lashes if i dont apply kajal
but if i apply on lower lashes mascara and kajal, it looks very odd on me qauz i hv small eyes
but im very careful with lower lashes, qauz mine look 2 much big when im finished with applying

Yes, I agree with the rest that applying to the lower lashes can look very artificial and even creepy!

the best way to do it for the bottom lashes is to just place the wand horizontal to the lower lash line and just place and wiggle it against the lash line gently, dont run it thru the lashes whatsoever! and voila! you will love the results, give it a shot. this procedure can actually make it look like youve put on eyeliner in your waterline while slighty defining your lashes, looks superb!

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I wonder if anyone could recommend the best way of applying mascara so that you don't get cloggy lashes.

Is there a need to apply some sort of base or what?

First of all invest in a good mascara.
Maybelline Define a Lash, Pink Mascara works wonder for me...
it does not just add volume to your lashes by clogging the mascara on your lashes...
it defines your lashes and give you a natural look...
