like garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, black peper, haldi and red chillies etc. When do these things expire? or they can be used for long long times.
I bought all these masaley 2 years ago. They are big packs in kilograms. I haven’t put them in any container and still using them out of the packing.
How long does it take them to expire. All of them are in open plastic bags.

Most dry spices don't expire but they lose their aroma pretty soon if you don't store them in an airtight container. I think if you have spices in large quantities then you should only take out small amount into a spice jar and store the rest in a way that air doesn't cross them. Yours probably lost aroma already because you were using directly from packets..

Btw dry herbs change flavors and may taste really bad when they're exposed to too much moisture,air and heat.
smell and color, if they have lose their smell or changed color then it has expired

They havnt lost smell or changed color. My city is very dry kinda place and they are kept away on shelves away from sunlight or heat or damp. They taste and smell as fresh.
I had an argument with my house mate who was *****ing about how they have been expired since march and I shouldnt use them.

i heard after a yr...but i personally never pay attention cos i don't think any of my ground spices last that long anyway
