Martyrs

Re: Martyrs

I didn’t say that it’ll make sense … All i’m saynig is that this is how the shias could justify the divine knowledge of the Imams, and how the imams get newer divine knowledge… Some Shias even accuse the sahaba of hiding relevent verses from the quran, thus makeing it hard to prove imammat from the Quran. To me, shia’ism doesn’t make any sense. It makes sense if you look at it from the point of politics, early on in the history of islam. Over time, it has changed, combined the political and religious ideas, and morphed into what we see today.

I’m a sunni, so I’m sure my biases are apparent.

Re: Martyrs

The idea of Immamat is that there should be a religious leader present in all times after the Prophet, so that he can properly guide the muslims .. After the 11th imam, the 12th Imam is in occulation. Initially he had 4 deputies, and they were to be followed. After their death, in the greater occulation, the shias are supposed to wait for the coming of the mahdi (12th imam). From what I've read, he wasn't supposed to be in hiding for 1000s of years. His being in hiding defeats the purpose of the immamat.

Shias argue that Allah is keeping the 12th imam alive ..

All i want to know is why? If Allah wanted to increase the life of a person, so that he can be an example for all muslims till the end of time, why not increase the life of the Prophet (pbuh)? Why complicate things?

Re: Martyrs

Zero1, where did I say that whatever Shias do or say is wrong? I have not decided anything or I am not blaming anyone. Please reread my post and you will see that I did not judge Shias or sunnis for that matter.

As a matter of fact, you have been quick to judge and place balme as you did by telling me that I have Ta’sub against Prophet’s:saw: family.

Furthermore, I did not bring in any hadiths to justify or nullify any claims. I will urge you to do the same. You can bring me a Quran’s Ayath that supports your claim that Hazrat Ali:as: was given the prievlige of ilm-ghaib and I will accept it without question. My brother in faith, Quran is the only way and the only guidance we need. I dont get into hadiths(anymore) becuase of authenticity and your ulema and my ulema debate. We all agree on Quran so lets just restrict the arguments to that.

Re: Martyrs

Sheraz, the ayath that you speak of is 33:33

*And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless. *
This ayath is regarding the wives of Prophet Muhammad:saw:. It is one of the first ayath that laid the ground work for “purdah”.

Re: Martyrs

oh, so that’s where you are copying-and-pasting your arguments from… that’s why you’ll never get to know what the commentaries actually say… as is the case with 13:43 where you and your favourite site have merely selected one of many explanations given by the commentators and are only now backtracking after people here have pointed out to you the other names and explanations in the tafsirs instead of what you’ve been spoon fed by your imams

Re: Martyrs

Guys, I think I cleared that there should be no shia-sunni arguments. If anyone restarts an argument, they will be out of here for 10 days.
