Martin L. King & Mahatma Gandhi

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time

Like your Baluchistan dossier ... it was made up ... but Gandhi's legacy has stood the test of time ...... he has been an inspiration for the world (civilzed that is :D) ..... rest you can read and understand what you want ... it is still a free world ... the Taliban haven't won ... yet !!!!!

Re: Martin L. King & Mahatma Gandhi

^^ All I can say is truth is found by those who seek it.

Whether Mohandas was a racist or not, research on the subject and come back to discuss when you are done.

I think i have posted enough evidence here to show that he was not a racist … but a leader respected and revered by one and all…

Dr. Martin Luther King

Nelson Mandela

Barrack Hussain Obama

… generations have been inspired and are getting inspire … here is something from UN … United Nations .. hope you are familiar with the term

International Day of Non-Violence - 2 October 2009

The International Day of Non-Violence is marked on 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence

What do you say about this:
Why, of all places in Johannesburg, the Indian location should be chosen for dumping down all kaffirs of the town, passes my comprehension.
Of course, under my suggestion, the Town Council must withdraw the Kaffirs from the Location. About this mixing of the Kaffirs with the Indians I must confess I feel most strongly. I think it is very unfair to the Indian population, and it is an undue tax on even the proverbial patience of my countrymen.
No no,... it is not written by some white supremacist. It was written by our friend Mohandas Karamchand!!!!!

Not that it is gonna make you change your mind, but still a little research is not that bad at all.

Research ..... so what you have done so far is called research :D ...

Let me explain ... here is a quote which you should be familiar with ...

“Till, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout: We said: O Zul Qarnain! Either punish or show them kindness.” (Al-Kahf: 86)

Now a lot of "researches", like you, have said that this shows that this book is nothing but lies .... but it is the shortsightedness of these people ... this normally happens when your aim is not to understand but to malign. Infact they are missing the beautifull message that this book has to offer and they are missing the message that has enriched the lives of billions of people.

Similarly you are only quoting passages. However if you were to read the book (this is from Mahatama Gandhi's own book !!!) and understand the message it will enlighten you ....

Once again "research" is a single word .... it is not "re-search" ... what you seem to be doing .... googling and searching for filth .. this will only fill your mind with it .... not enrich it !!!!!

^^ This is quite a lame try to bring religion into this.

Mohandas Karamchand's racist slurs have nothing to do with religion, or do they?

He hated black people and never tried to hide it while in SA. His speeches, his writings are a proof and lot of people witnessed that. He was rightly not given a nobel peace prize, because it would have offended hell lot of black people!

As said before, not every black is as forgiving as Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King, who ignored how racist Mohandas was.

It just shows their greatness.

I am giving credit where it is due and, this is why I appreciated Mohandas' sacrifices for his people - the upper caste Hindus.

So the Nobel committe did not give him the peace prize in 30 -40's because it would have offended the blacks ...... which blacks ... the one in South Africa under aparthied ... or were it the blacks in US who were fighting segregation ..... please do enlighten us :D

So which (every) black have you met who is not forgiving as Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King ..... at the same time i am happy that you have been able to "learn" what Martin Luther King thought of Mahatama Gandhi !!!!

^^ So do you support Mohandas Karamchand's racial slurs against black people?

A simple yes or no will do.

Certainly not .... like most of his admirers would say to you .... there is no racial slur !!!

I would not consider what he said racial slurs, but I do not support the language in use at that time to describe blacks.

Happy ?? :D

Re: Martin L. King & Mahatma Gandhi

^We really have to look for the actual source to assess if he has ever said like that.Since some online stuffs can be quite tricky.

I really doubt if he has ever said like that.

Some reading of history might help you :) Many upper caste Hindus were against Gandhi and it was an upper caste Hindu who assassinated him.

It is necessary to point out an aspect of Gandhi's personality that made him source of unabated distrust and dislike in the eyes of hard core Hindus. Though he was devout Hindu, he had most amicable and warm relations with many who did not belong to the Hindu fold. As a result of this exposure he had developed an eclectic religious sense based on oneness of God and equality of all religions.

Caste divisions and untouchability prevalent among the Hindu social organisation distressed him immensely. He advocated and actively encouraged inter-caste marriages. Lastly he blessed only those marriages wherein one of the partners belonged to the untouchable castes.

He coined the term "Harijan" for the dalits, which means "God's children". Vested interests amongst high caste Hindus viewed this reformist and other religious programmes with bitter resentment. In course of time it developed into a phobia and thus he became an anathema to them.
