marrying own cousin

i read a lot of times that ppl in this forum are married to their 1st cousins..im from europe im like an EXTREMLY traditional pakistani but this would be just a no-go for me! like they are like your brothers/sisters and you maybe even used to call them BHAI or BEHEN/BAJI… hello?? how can you marry someone like this?

Depends on how you were raised. I was always told that my female cousins were my sisters. So like you said, I could never imagine myself marrying one of them. But that is not the case with all the families, so it does’t seem odd to them. We can’t judge everyone based on what we consider to be the norm.
