sometimes certain castes are more strict than others about marrying outside. Like if she's syed, then I hear what you're saying because, as a syed, I know sometimes it's REALLY hard to convince the family that caste isn't THE MOST important thing in the world.
But...yeah it seems like even if the boy WAS Pakistani/muslim, the family would be hard to convince because he's not of the same zaat as the girl.
