Ah well the way you said it I thought you meant that they are somehow deficient in character, academic/career success or looks.

It includes all factors, those that you noted above as well as factors like not having a pool of candidates, not being integrated into community, not having a community, etc etc etc.
The net result is the same i.e. not being able to find a mate locally

So many of us Muslims in the west with Pakistani, Indian , Bengali parents have gone back to get married. There are a lot of people talking about pakmarriages. It’s a website about all the cultural issues ,arranged and forced marriages from Pakistan and the sub continent etc.
