Never know about her before reading Da Vinci Code.. As far as I know, there is no mention of a woman in Hazrat Isa (AS) life except her mother Hazrat Maryam (AS), and its common belief among Muslims that he never married? Are there any Ahadees or other Muslim sources, which refer to Marry Magdalene?
Was Marry Magdalene existence is proved in Biblical accounts? What was her role in Hazrat Isa’s (AS) life?
I have a theory that Mary Magdelene is actually one and the same as Mary mother of Jesus since there were accusations levelled against Mary for being unchaste - however when historians wrote down the descriptions of Mary they separated the two dominant descriptions to form two separate characters.
If I am not mistaken in the New Testament there are:
two Simons - Simon Peter (The Cephas) and Simon the Zealot
three Marys - including mother of Jesus and the Magdalene and another who was present at the crucifixion
two James - lesser and greater
psyah is there no reference to any woman in Hazrat Isa's life other than his mother in Islamic sources?
There is also none in Christian sources - this Dan Brown dude has everyone making a meal of it ... the alleged Da Vinci paintings of Magdalene are the young Saint John ... just because they look girly then modern interpretation has them as a secret portrayal of Mary Magdalene.
The magdalene was just a repentant prostitute at the time of Isa (AS) and he (AS) had been part of the lives of many women as a guide and prophet to them.
Isa (AS) was totally here for a spiritual purpose in his first coming ... A wife is considered dunya.

So did he preached celibacy by this act? I want to understand the reasons behind his not marrying, as Quran also does not support to be celibate (if I'm not wrong, its called Ruhbaniyat and there is an Ayat which says they (ihl e kitab) were not required to be Rahab, but they did so and could not properly follow that)
