Married Ladies

Please tell us how much domestic work do you do. If you divide it with your husband or any other person at home, how is that done.

Re: Married Ladies

The list is very long that I do.

How is it divided with hubby? - By begging for 5 hours. Then he just “might” decide to get up after a big fat burp - to gross me out and I have to run :halo:

Re: Married Ladies

i do the dishes
sweep the floors, mop them
clean the toilet, and the sink
take out the trash.

what else is there?

Re: Married Ladies

^^make dinner, laundry, grocery, write bills, sort mail...

Re: Married Ladies

What does your wife do, Iconoclast?

And what do YOU do to help her?

Re: Married Ladies

i think i did 10 %

i do the majority, but he always helps out and does his fair share, he's great at tidying, whilst im more cleaning.

Re: Married Ladies

Divide it? Pfffttt....haha. I do 100% And with 3 kids it adds up fast. The constant sweeping up and vaccuuming. The kids just eat a meal and it's like a bomb exploded in the house. I have 3-4 loads of laundry everyday. Loads of dishes, cook everyday, groceries, scrubbing floors. Then caring for the kids, bathing, feeding, homework etc is demanding too. Being married to a surgeon is like being a single mother most of the time. When he's home he's so exhausted that I pamper him too. It's no wonder my immune system hates me.

Re: Married Ladies

3-4 loads of laundry daily?
You need a larger capacity washer and dryer. :D

Re: Married Ladies

We need a washer that's not from 1974.

Re: Married Ladies

I help her 100% .. I make the mess, she cleans after me ..

ur husband is a surgeon and u use 1974 washer??? damn!!! need to empty some pockets there buddy to ease life.. thats why we earn.. or let me guess.. u have a HUGE home loan which first needs paying..

Re: Married Ladies

I don't think there should be a list of what she does or what he does. We should just do whatever is necessary to get the job done.

Oh yeah. i make the dinner, do the laundry, do the groceries, make the bill payments (his funds though :D) and collct the mail.

the last two take what..5 minutes total?

In fact most of the chores dont take very long...but its just oding them thats half hte battle.

Re: Married Ladies

Icon, I dont understand what it is you're looking to figure out. Household chores need to be done for sure. But every household is different....are there kids? Are there other family members around to look after the kids? What kind of household is it?

If its hubby and wife, and wife is at home with no kids, then surely she can handle all the tasks that need to be done. If kids and infants are involved, husbnd should pitch in a bit. But maybe not so much if there are in-laws and/or relatives around to help give wife a break. Does wife work? Then husband needs to help, needs to do his part to keep things smooth.

So lets get more specific here man...what kind of situation are we looking at to comment upon?

Re: Married Ladies

Its an even split for us, the general rule is he cleans and I cook, however we both help each other out, and always do the shopping together. It works well with both of us full time jobs.

Hahaha, I knew someone would say that. We bought a house that we're about to tear down and build a brand new home. So we're in limbo right now.

Re: Married Ladies

well almost every women do it after getting marrying. they better question should be who do it before getting marrying.

kher iconoclast, why pose such question, any specific reasoning there?

happy 35th birthday or is it 36th already?

Re: Married Ladies

My wife doesn't work and she has a full time house maid. I teach the kids for an hour or so and do grocery. On weekends in do some dusting, washing the rugs or polish furniture, things of that sort. Thats pretty much what i do. My wife feels i should do more and i think i shudn't.
