married couples and their weight

this is a serious and sensitive topic. so please dont simply make a joke out of it that might hurt someone.

being healthy is fine. but being delibrately a jelly dough is not.

losing weight and being fit is essential to being all of it - attractive, reasonably fitness & health wise, risk free from diseases that are associated to over weightyness.

what would you suggest married couples to look at, when both or one of the spouses have excess weight which is not good for their health and relationship.

how would you help them beyond words in accomplishing a healthy weight number??

best,

Dushwari

Re: married couples and their weight

funny that, my hubby and i were discussing this over the weekend.. only we were discussing how people dont attempt to look nice for their spouses..

after we got married, both hubby and I went on a healthy diet (although he was not overweight at all.. me slightly).. then i got preggo, and after the bubz i lost weight but managed to gain it all back... i was pretty distraught, so hubby helped me go on a diet and stick to it...

u know, i think, if u have a caring spouse who motivates you, then thats the best thing... another thing is, i find people get REALLY sensitive if their hubby even mentions "diet".. i know i used to... lol..

another thing that motivates both of us, is our daughter... :)

having said that, i dont see toooooo many overweight people these days (well young couples). Most of them try to look after themselves...

Re: married couples and their weight

I have a solution for one of the cases, if the hubbie develops a beer belly, dont cook for him, deny him you know what, and make him sleep on the couch, and watch the 'tidd' dissapear fast!

Re: married couples and their weight

Jenny Craig  :haha:

i was FAT (over weight) when i got married and now trying to reduce most of it
i eat more sweats and she controls most of my eating habits and i too don't cheat her by eating outside, now i feel OK but still need to reduce

Re: married couples and their weight

I have always maintained myself; before marriage as well as after marriage. In fact, in my previous office building, there was a gym right upstairs and I used to go work out 4 days a week. This office does not have a gym, so I make up for that workout part by walking every afternoon.

Re: married couples and their weight

^ Shikra bhai I am sure you are a strapping chiseled young man, but the good lady wanted to know what bhabhi can do to make sure you remain fit.

Re: married couples and their weight

^ She doesn't really have to do anything as I take care of myself :D Sorry, didn't read the entire topic, just kind skimmed through the replies and gave my 2 cents.

She cooks healthy. Mom used to put too much oil in our food but Mrs. doesn't put as much oil. She makes sure that I eat a fruit daily and don't drink much soda. Then we also go for walks. What do I do to encourage her to keep herself fit? Nothing because she does it herself :D

what if the wife is gaining weight . .what should be the solution then

y r people so obsessed wiht their weight? is it really that uncommon not 2 b a fatty?

sorry im single, cant answer that yet ;)

don't worry, liposuction is the fast solution
after having kids women generally gains some weight

but why this can not be a excuse for men after having kids :)

and there is saying

whatever sweet taste your lip stay on your hip

Re: married couples and their weight

Before I got married I used ot watch what i eat and work out . Post wedding, lack of excercise , fatty desi foods and laziness made us gain a lot of weight . So right now me and my hubby are on a strict weight loss regimen , I hope shake off some serious pounds.
