Marriages now and then..

Hello ppl..

its Winter time , and obviosuly hot favourite season for marraiges in Pakistan…

Well every one enjoys to attend marraiges, specially females and men are there for get together and offcourse Dinner..

I belong to a Generation who has just seen marraiges of 80’s and 90’s and aware of the customs performd now a days.

I wanna know, how were marraiges were performed in Muslim Families in prepartition and post partition era. and how todays marriages differ from those.

What was important in that age, and also our culture has detoriorate over the time due to influence of Hindus customs?

and to make this discussion interesting, mind sharing some interesting observation of any marriage you attended, which you cant forget..

btw im just leaving right now to attend a marraige in my neighbourhood and i already have started feeling alianted

What is or what was exactly "our" culture? I think since you said our culture had deteriorated over time, you must know what it was like before? I'd like for you to answer that, and then we can take the discussion on from there. :)

nice question seher..

actually i know the past culture through my elders, like nani, nana and etc..

Ive been told abt what used to happen in those days..
people used to be more simple, and marraiges were performed with simplicity. There used to be strong family system, and marriages used to be in family.

Women and men used to sit in seperate areas, there used to be strong implementation of Perda..

etc etc...

marriages sucks :disgust: now and then :disgust::disgust:

ermmm..

i guess u didnt had a good experience with that ...

happens..
