marriage

is it true that a muslim can’t marry without the permission of their parents?
if it is (like all islamic websites claim) isn’t it highly unfair?

member participation is at an alltime low on GS. you can even hear echo on some forums.

kahaan se aisi baatein sun lete ho yaar....
all u need is 2 gawaah and a qazi....
and ofcourse a larrki ready to say HAAN....

P.S. maa baap ki marzi ke time Islam ka khayal aata ho to phir larrkiyon se ishq larratey huway bhee Islam ko nahin bhoolna chahiye....

yes it's true coz marriage is not a hiddenor secret affair.

i did some more research and found that hanfis believe that marriage can be done even without permission of parents while shaifis believe that marriage must be done with the permission of 'wali'.

I hope this clears some confusion.

and i hope u do a bit more research and find out what "wali" means....

Wali is a term that can be used for, you can say, a 'guardian'. A person who is responsible for your care and safety. Under normal conditions parents are 'wali'.

Yes, a person can marry without parents consent. Depends if the person getting married is a baligh (sp?). Iv never heard anything along the lines of people not being able to marry just because the parents arent in agreement.

for armughal; girl cant more marry without the permission of their friend. (i mean boyfriends) and his boy cant marry without the permission of their girlfriend.

Try thinking some other meaning of "Wali"

NOTE: this is only for those are going to marry for the first time.

Dude what if the parents are dead. I guess in that case become a catholic priest since you aint gonna be gettin' any and hope that you get posted near a kids school.

also, for those women marrying after getting divorced and who have no fathers, the son is the next wali.
so the woman marries with the consent of her son.
