Definitely agree with patience, tolerance.
Communication requires complex strategy.
Try not to 'communicate' everything which comes to your mind. Hold your thoughts at times. Think of better way to say things even to your spouse. Remember, your spouse is the one who will live with you till you are old and frail. Make him (or her) your best friend.
Praise your partner on anything big or little.
