marriage and sects!

hey! Please write your experiences with marrying in different sect.. My mil is a shia and fil is a sunni. My fiancee is neither. He follows everything sunni from kalma to fasting to prayer.. Except some beliefs. He is not very religious but prays 5 times mashAllah. **Once we had to go out on 10 moharam on a dinner so his mother said to go after 11th. We fought alot but he told me he respects his mother alot and we will do what we want when married and independent.. He watches movies and songs in moharam.. ** So i want to know what it would be like.. My family is very much against shia’s and call them non muslims. So i wanna know.

That’s really weird that he would fight with you (or you meant fight with his mother) for going out on the 10th? It wouldn’t have killed him to attend a few days later… unless it was a major thing that will only be held after a very long time…
