Re: Marriage & age difference
let's shift the statement a little. If young women were to begin marrying men 10 years or so younger than their own selves, on a population level, what will be the benefits?
Best,

Re: Marriage & age difference
Why is age difference kept in a marriage? Whatever opinion you hold, please support your opinion with logical comments.
for wife #1, 2 3 or 4? :D
Re: Marriage & age difference
5 years up or down for both parties could work well ! any thing more then that cud be a killer !
Re: Marriage & age difference
Take our Prophet (pbuh) as an example. His first wife was 25 years older than him and his last wife was more than 25 years younger than him. There is no set rule. Incidentally my husband is 13 years older than me. We're doing ok. He's not any more 'worldly' or 'knowledgeable' than I am. We make it work. Thats what its all about.
Re: Marriage & age difference
Age difference does not play a role when looked at from Islamic POV. Ofcourse it depends from person-to-person and what he/she believes. If a person is a strong “follower” of society and culture, then he/she might not like too much difference. No where in Quran or Sunnah does it say that you HAVE to marry a person younger than you or older than you. If a person feels that he/she can live happily with the spouse, then age does not matter. Take the examples from Prophet’s
marriages.
Re: Marriage & age difference
4-5 years difference is ok
Re: Marriage & age difference
